Starting a Blog for the Folsom Globe Chompers

I love to cook and I love to travel. Currently though, with 3 school age kids I have more opportunities for cooking than travel. Every Monday night we have family night. Our family was inspired while learning about Joseph Smith and the School of the Prophets that they were instructed to learn;

Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—D&C Section 88:79

We wanted to share with our children an education about people and cultures around the world. So following the alphabetical order of countries as presented in the The Travel Book: A Journey Through Every Country of the World by Lonely Planet; we are studying a new country each Monday Family Night. My husband Jeff reads the book to the kids and helps them find the country on our globe. I cook a meal or dish representing that country. This blog is to detail our culinary journey around the world.
